Don't struggle with your kickstand, extend it.

When my kickstand was up and it was time to put it down, it was concealed so well I might as well dig it out with my hand. No amount of "toeing" it out was productive, until....

I bent around some roundstock of about the same gauge so it would extend past the muffler.
I properly prepared the surfaces to be welded with a grinder, welded on both sides, cleaned up the welds, let it cool and painted.

It works so well, I learned how to put my kickstand down without having to look. It was sticking out far enough to be able to put it down without having to get off the bike.
